3 Sexy Caribbean Getaways

Sultry stretches of sand for you and your lover

You have two choices when it's cold outside. Grab your fluffiest blanket and cuddle in bed for the weekend or throw caution to the wind and find a Caribbean resort to heat things up in a different way.

Magens Bay Beach, St. ThomasMagens Bay Beach, St. ThomasWe searched high and low for the sexiest Caribbean islands that focus on what's most important (the 4 S's) - sand, sun, surf and ..... Where would you rather spend the weekend - in bed or in bed in the Caribbean?

Go ahead, strip down and defrost your passion in a place where sex on the beach is more than just a tropical drink.

The Baths, Virgin Gorda, BVI

The Virgin Gorda might literally translate into the Fat Virgin, but don't expect to actually see any here. Welcome to the land of the beautiful - Sports Illustrated photographed Tyra Banks in her bikini here in 1997.

Rosewood Little Dix BayRosewood Little Dix BayWe recommend Rosewood Little Dix Bay. Founded in 1964 and completely refreshed in 2006, you'll have plenty of space to stretch out on the crescent moon shaped beach. All 100 rooms - and a bunch of 3 and 4-bedroom villas equipped with private pools - have air conditioning and view of the sea. Both the sophisticated Pavilion and Sugar Mill restaurants as well as the Beach Grill are open air and feature contemporary Caribbean cuisine.

Don't go if you have more money than sense and like to be pampered like royalty. The vibe here is down to earth and relaxed.

Curacao

Curacao might be the C of the A,B,C islands but it gets top grade in our books. If you're a power-shopper, stick close to Willemstead but drive an hour west and you'll discover paradise - perched on a limestone bluff.

Kura Hulanda LodgeKura Hulanda LodgeLodge Kura Hulanda and Beach Club's 42 bungalow-style rooms with kitchenettes and wireless serve up spectacular sunset views. Our secret tip - the best rooms for sunset-scaping are on the main floor (room 216 is the fan fav!). Sea-view Christoffel Sunset Lounge is casual while the Watamula Restaurant is for evening dining.

When you're ready to surface for a breather from the bedroom, the leeward coast is perfect for a lazy day of kayaking, snorkeling or diving to sneak a peek at the spotted eagle rays.

Don't come here if you like active vacations, hedonistic nightlife or over the top luxury. And this is definitely a couple's getaway, both straight and gay.

Belize

Archeologists have discovered more than 600 Mayan sites in Belize, and you could spend your entire vacation exploring. But the ruins and rainforest can wait because the beach is calling. If love is a many splendored thing, then love on the beach of Ambergris Caye is delish beyond your wildest dreams.

Matachia Resort, BelizeMatachica Resort, BelizeA stone's throw from the world's second largest Great Barrier Reef, the luminescent sandy crescent that surrounds Matachica Beach Resort is waiting for you. If you're checking in to chill out, throw yourself (and your lover) into one of the many hammocks or the spa tent...ahhhh!

The layout of the resort is fun and whimsical with the 21 cabanas forming a sorbet-colored bouquet, surrounded by palm trees on the beach - each one is painted a different color. When you need sustenance, the Mambo Restaurant will satisfy. We promise.

Don't go if cutting yourself completely off from civilization scares you.
