What to do when your embarrassing vacation photos go public

Digital photography has made it harder than ever to keep some photos private. Sure, they make it easier to show everyone how fabulous your cruise was, but it only takes a few accidental clicks or a friend with a cruel sense of humor for your clothing optional pics to be added to an email.

Before you know it, everyone and their sister are talking about what an exhibitionist you are...so how do you handle it? Personally, I'd take a page from the stars' books. They deal with it every day.

Miley CyrusVanity Fair just published some edgy photos of 15 year old Miley Cyrus wrapped in a sheet. According to Vanity Fair, Miley thought the proofs looked artsy.

It no longer matters what she was thinking when she did the shoot. The public and her employers, the Disney Channel, both think the photos are a little too scandalous - especially for a minor. So what's a girl to do?

Cyrus released a statement Sunday saying "I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed."

That 15 year old has handled way more PR snafus than you ever will, so copy her style to diffuse the situation:

Even if it's just a silly snapshot of you intoxicated and acting crazy, your first step is to blame the photographer. You weren't acting like that, but they made you pose for the photo.
Next, make the channel of distribution clear. There wasn't supposed to be one, and you're embarrassed that the photo leaked.
Once you've made your two statements, the conversations about the photos end. Refuse to say anything else, because it'll just get taken out of context. You know you weren't doing anything wrong; you just didn't want the photos to go public. So go back to pretending they didn't.

It's one mistake ppl. one mistake and her life is ruined? I don't think so. EVERYONE makes mistakes like this but everyone decides to pick n Miley the most. well leave her alone! leave her show HOW it is and ON the air. If you take change just one little thing in the show, watch your viewers drop...quick!

Those photos are something to be embarresed about but I think they should go a little bit easier on her seeing as she is 15. They were not tastefully done like Carissa said on the 1st page! Sorry meant 1st page!

First of all, I have seen the "behind the scenes" photo's of her at the photo shoot. She seemed a little uncomfortable with the thing draped around her and was holding onto it tightly. Then they showed a photo of the "stylist" messing with it, and the makeup artist was taking her attention. The photo has also been doctored to make it look even worse. I feel that she was totally used here. I realize I don't know everthing that happend on set, but I still feel that the photographers (you know who) should not have exploited her like that. They DID know what they were doing, I feel for miley, and I hope that all of this blows over for her soon. A 15 year old should not be put through anything like this. We hope everything turns out ok for you Miley! We love you!
