Big congrats to Lisa McDonald for winning her ticket to Blissdom Canada in October.

For many women, their only currency and passport lies in their hearts and the ability to travel in their minds – while being told what they can and cannot do. Many women around the world cannot drive a car, hold a job, voice an opinion – never mind travel. Lisa’s post about women’s rights and all the things we take for granted resulted in a unanimous vote from our judges. That and they really liked her Blissdom Canada video. Follow your bliss to Blissdom

Road TripIf you've been following GoGirlfriend on Twitter this summer, you know we've been talking to a lot bloggers about the contest. We're not big on rules, so we kept our contest as simple as possible.

• Travel somewhere
• Shoot some pics of you at the place you've traveled to
• Write about it on GG or on your own site and link to us.

Your travel adventures can be for your family, an intimate lover's getaway or just for you. Remember, you can be a tourist in your hometown too - writing about where you live is totally cool with us. Just don't forget pictures!

To make the judging as non-partisan as possible, we chose five guys, who are also bloggers and passionate about travel and social media. Some people have asked us why all our judges are male and not female and the answer is pretty simple. We wanted judges who had no interest in attending the conference and likely wouldn't know the entrants personally.

And just like the judges on Idol, it's important to sing to the panel with everything you've got. Our judges are intrigued by creative tweeting and Facebook love. And they particularly love it when entrants use the the hashtag #GGBliss.

Contest Rules

• Planning your AdventureContest opens June 1, 2011 and runs to September 1^st. Winner will be announced September 7^th.
• Write a blog post on a place you've traveled to (minimum 250 words). The story must be previously unpublished and you must own the rights to the content.
• The story must be about a place you've visited personally and have pictures to prove it.
• The contest is open to Canadian and American residents, men and women over the age of 18.
• You can post the story on your site with a link to GoGirlfriend or you can send it to us at jrosien@GoGirlfriend.com and we'll publish it on our site.
• For your story, please include the following:
• o When you visited
• o Your traveling companions
• o Original pictures of YOU at the destination
• o Links to more info about the destination - so we can follow your bliss too!
• o What you loved (or could live without) about the destination
• o Why you want to go to Blissdom Canada with GoGirlfriend
