Reduce Rental Car Damage Fees
There’s nothing worse than getting dinged for a ding on a rental car – especially if you didn’t do it. When you pick up your car, do a full inspection of your rental car before driving it out of the lot. If there’s a ding in it, snap a picture (time stamped) and ensure they make note of it on your file. When you return the car, request a written record that you returned the car in perfect condition.

Travel With Confidence
Being the kind of traveler other people want to help makes traveling more enjoyable for you and those around you, says Ashley Welton, GoGirlfriend contributor. But being nice doesn’t mean wiping “No” from your vocabulary.
Sometimes, speaking up is your best defence when you're traveling.
By all means be nice and helpful and friendly – when you’re comfortable and feel safe. If you feel your safety is in jeopardy or someone’s advances make you nervous, put niceties aside and get the heck out of Dodge. They might remember you for being a bitch but better that than for a headline in tomorrow’s news.

Buy Tickets to Major Attractions Ahead of Time
Consider buying tickets online before you leave home (just remember to pack them), which will save you money and time standing in ticket lines. If you’re a CAA member, you’ll be able to tap into discounted tickets to major attractions like Universal, Disney, Discovery Cove and the Kennedy Space Center. UnderCoverTourist.com is also a great site to purchase discounted tickets to Orlando attractions in advance. Both are authorized, legitimate sellers – be careful not to get conned in buying from unauthorized sources.

Travel First Aid Kit
If you travel, you're eventually going to get sick somewhere. Maybe somewhere exotic. And there are some things no one wants to explain to a male pharmacist. Travel blogger, Ashley Welton, says you can't pack for every emergency - but you can pack for the annoying and embarassing ones:
Pain medication (ibuprofen or Tylenol)- Decongestant (several days worth)
- Allergy medication (non-drowsy and/or fast acting)
- Stomach trouble remedies and antacids
- Bandages in a variety of sizes and Neosporin
- Feminine hygiene products and yeast infection treatments
- Hand sanitizer or cleansing wipes
- Seasickness medication if you're traveling by water and anti-altitude sickness medication if traveling to high altitudes

Assign the Picture-Taking to the Tweens
Most kids LOVE to take photos, so if you encourage them to document the trip from their perspective, it will give them something to do. This may result in a lot of unusual shots and selfies, but it will keep them from getting bored and will help preserve memories of the trip that might otherwise be forgotten. It can be fun and eye-opening to compare your child’s photos with ones you’ve taken – you’ll see the trip through a completely different viewpoint and may be surprised what caught their eye.

Take the Bus
The last time I traveled to Puerto Rico, I stayed just outside of Old San Juan. If you’ve been there, you know a taxi-drive can undo all the goodness of your morning wrinkle-eraser in 5 minutes.
Buses are safe, timely and cheap. What’s more, you get to see parts of the city you might not otherwise have seen.
On a side note, subways are equally effective. When I’m in Chicago or New York City, the subway is always my first choice.
Saving time and money by using public transport leaves more of both for visiting restaurants, spas, shopping…
