Blissdom Canada 2011 Contest Extended

We have a Blissdom Canada winner!

Big congrats to Lisa McDonald for winning her ticket to Blissdom Canada in October.

For many women, their only currency and passport lies in their hearts and the ability to travel in their minds – while being told what they can and cannot do. Many women around the world cannot drive a car, hold a job, voice an opinion – never mind travel. Lisa’s post about women’s rights and all the things we take for granted resulted in a unanimous vote from our judges. That and they really liked her Blissdom Canada video. Lisa, we’re working on getting GoGirlfriend tee-shirts made – just for YOU!

Still time to win your free Blissdom ticket

Want to know why we love Canadian bloggers?  You love to travel and share, which makes you the full meal deal. This year, Canadian bloggers can win a chance to get into Blissdom Canada free. And all you have to do is do what you do best. Travel. And then write about it.

Follow your bliss to Blissdom

Road TripRoad TripIf you've been following GoGirlfriend on Twitter this summer, you know we've been talking to a lot bloggers about the contest. We're not big on rules, so we kept our contest as simple as possible.

  • Travel somewhere
  • Shoot some pics of you at the place you've traveled to
  • Write about it on GG or on your own site and link to us.

Your travel adventures can be for your family, an intimate lover's getaway or just for you. Remember, you can be a tourist in your hometown too - writing about where you live is totally cool with us. Just don't forget pictures!

To make the judging as non-partisan as possible, we chose five guys, who are also bloggers and passionate about travel and social media. Some people have asked us why all our judges are male and not female and the answer is pretty simple. We wanted judges who had no interest in attending the conference and likely wouldn't know the entrants personally.

And just like the judges on Idol, it's important to sing to the panel with everything you've got. Our judges are intrigued by creative tweeting and Facebook love. And they particularly love it when entrants use the the hashtag #GGBliss.

It is the New Terra Cotta Clothing Optional Resort and Spa in sunny Palm Springs, California.. The original Terra Cotta Inn was a fantastic nude resort. Repeat guests from around the world stayed there. TCI was sold in Nov 2015 and greatly missed. Well, this July 2017, it was revived at a new location in Palm Springs. The site is HotelTerraCotta.com. Guests are super happy. It's perfect for couples and girlfriend getaways. And Tom and Mary Clare from the original Terra Cotta Inn work with us, so it has the same relaxing, fun feel. "

I understand in the litigious US of A, hotels need to prevent folks from throwing themselves out the windows (or else the hotel could be sued?!!). Ok, fine. But for those of us who dislike A/C and only use it when absolutely necessary, can't we still have the option for some FRESH AIR? There ARE ways to allow windows to open up only so much, while at the same time preventing an entire body from throwing itself out the window. Bedskirts. Am I the only one who gets the skeevies when I see hotel beds with bedskirts that hit the floor? I always had images of food crumbs, bugs, and god only knows what...as being hidden behind that bedskirt. I'd much rather a bedskirt that's at least 2" above the (usually carpetted) floor. Towels. Can't we get nicer towels that don't feel like cardboard? Carpetting. Am I the only one who never walks barefoot in a hotel room ...esp when there's carpet? Blech. I'm sure those things are very rarely cleaned. "
