Follow your bliss to Blissdom
Here's what it takes to win - travel somewhere, shoot some pics and write about it. And you have all summer to do it - the contest runs from June 1 to August 15 - that's some serious travel time!
Since GoGirlfriend is a travel blog, we'd like to showcase all the wonderful places our GoGirlfriends (and Guy Fridays) travel. Pick a place you've visited, snapped some pics and tell us why you love it - for your family, lover's getaway or just for you. We'll post your story on GoGirlfriend or you can post it on your blog and link to GoGirlfriend. It's that simple.
Of course, our judges can be swayed by creative tweeting and Facebook love. We'll be using the hashtag #GGBliss throughout the summer so you can follow where all your friends are traveling and writing about.
Remember, you can be a tourist in your hometown too - writing about where you live is totally cool with us. Just remember the pictures!
Not sure what Blissdom Canada is all about and why you need to be there? Jump on Twitter and follow the BlissdomCanada Twitter hashtag #BlissDomCanada and you'll soon see - this is THE conference for Canadian bloggers.
- Contest opens June 1, 2011 and runs to August 15. Winner will be announced August 22, 2011.
- Write a blog post on a place you've traveled to (minimum 250 words). The story must be previously unpublished and you must own the rights to the content.
- The story must be about a place you've visited personally and have pictures to prove it.
- The contest is open to Canadian and American residents, men and women over the age of 18.
- You can post the story on your site with a link to GoGirlfriend or you can send it to us at jrosien@GoGirlfriend.com and we'll publish it on our site.
For your story, please include the following:
- When you visited
- Your traveling companions
- Original pictures of YOU at the destination
- Links to more info about the destination - so we can follow your bliss too!
- What you loved (or could live without) about the destination
- Why you want to go to Blissdom Canada with GoGirlfriend
Our contest opens officially on June 1st and runs through August 15 - lots of time to follow your bliss and write about it. We'll announce a winner on August 22, plenty of time to get your flights and hotel booked to Toronto before Blissdom in October.
Our esteemed (and downright good looking) panel of judges is comprised of 5 amazing men, who have not sworn an oath to unbiased judging. They'll be selecting a winner on a totally subjective basis - if they like what they read, they'll pick you. Simple right?
We highly recommend checking out these guys and then getting up close and personal with them. Yes, they respond to flattery and Twitter love - that's why we picked them (and their profile pics are pretty hot too).
