Yesterday in Hong Kong, health officials took a preemptive strike to slow down the rampage of this season's flu outbreak in the country. More than half a million primary and kindergarten students were given a surprise 2-week vacation to calm public fears and slow the spread of the flu - and hopefully give medical clinics a reprieve

But after the news today of a woman who sat on the toilet so long her skin grew around the seat, I have another mental image that's giving me the shivers.

What about a mountain hideaway, snuggled up by the fire for days on end?
