US Airways Plane Loses Part of Wing over Maryland

Heads up, plane parts falling from the sky

US Airways says part of a plane dislodging during flight over the weekend is just part of their master plan to increase on-time arrivals. Lighter planes, faster speeds...Uh, the good folks who live in Maryland may not agree. And we're guessing passengers onboard were a little miffed as well.

The Cost of Flying? The Cost of Flying?Over the weekend a 17" square piece of the plane fell off during a flight somewhere over Anne Arundel or Prince George's County - or maybe near Kent Island. What do they know for sure? The plane took off from Orlando and arrived in Philadelphia missing something important.

The plane has been taken out of service, which is a great relief. Because safety is important to us, you know. And we're relieved it's important to airlines as well.

If you happen to find the plane part in your garden or lodged in your roof or maybe on top of your car, please let US airways know...Maybe they can glue it back on.

Fed up with airlines scrimping on safety? Think the FAA should step in and take action?
