Shen Yun
Taking a break from cruise planning tonight and tumbling down a rabbit hole of fun at my local live theatre. Nothing blows away the chill of winter evening like the theatre...Well a cruise would, but I have a few weeks to go yet.
Heading to Shen Yun at the Center in the Square, Kitchener, Ontario.
Shen YunAccording to the website: "Shen Yun Performing Arts presents classical Chinese dance and music in gloriously colorful and exhilarating shows. An art form several millennia old, Chinese dance is refreshingly dynamic and expressive. Ancient legends and heroic figures come to life through its leaps, spins, and delicate gestures."
Sounds impressive, to say the least.
I honestly believe it's impossible for a live performance to be disappointing. When someone is fearless enough to walk on stage and expose their soul to strangers - well, beautiful things happen. Granted, not all performances are Broadway quality, but all are an experience.
I'll update my Facebook and Twitter feed later with pics
Shen Yun of the evening - though I probably won't be able to take pictures of the actual show.
One of my all-time fav live performances took place in San Francisco, Jazz at Pearls. Kim Nalley owned the stage with a style all her own - and I'm still in awe of her power and passion.
When's the last time you grabbed your pals and did wonders for your nightlife?
