Le Nordik Spa Continues to Expand

Nordik Spa ~ there’s even more to love!

One of GoGirlfriend’s favorite water spa’s – Le Nordik Spa in Chelsea, Quebec (Gatineau Region) - is expanding its spaces and service offerings with quite a few enhancements we’re very excited about! There’s a lot to celebrate and excellent reasons to schedule a visit soon.

GoGirfriend’s Hot Off the Press

Banyä Treatment – opened November 2017 – inspired by a 1000-year-old Russian tradition, Le Nordik’s Banyä treatment immerses Le Nordik's new Banya treatmentyou into the Russian sauna tradition with this entertaining, celebratory and interactive experience. Starting with the Russia-imported vodka shooter to the steamed oil infusion, salt exfoliation, to the birch venik beating ritual and Aufguss ritual, this new, unique one-hour sauna experience is designed to improve blood circulation, cleanse, eliminate toxins and leave you relaxed. Having experienced this amazing ritual it is an intensive "Wow"!

Held in the new Banyä space, this Russian-inspired sauna balances the dry heat of the northern Nordic sauna’s with the humid, moist steam baths of the Mediterranean – celebrated in ending the Banyä treatment with the Aufguss ritual.

Banyä Space – Opened December 2016, the Espace Banyä is a stunning 2-storey addition within the core of their property offering a Russian sauna, exfoliation room, as well as yoga and meditation space.

  • Le Nordik's Russian Banya SaunaThe Russian Banyä sauna is built using the rock landscape as a core feature – adding natural effect and a stunning visual. The Banyä sauna takes it’s moist and dry concepts from pouring water on to the stones heating the area adding a fine balance of moisture and heat allowing a unique relaxing experience.
  • Recommended to start your day’s spa experience, Le Nordik’s new Exfoliation Room for maximum benefit. To invigorate the skin and bring out the natural radiance, begin scrubbing your partner with exfoliating salts with added essential oils of either lavender (for soothing relaxation) or mint (for invigoration) and follow up with a warm shower. Thus begins the relaxation!
  • The new Onsën hot covered pool adds a 6th hot pool to the 10-pool selection at Le Nordik. Hewn from the natural rock with sculpted seats shaped for your bodies comfort, this 37’C pool (98’F) is built covered in the Japanese style and features gentle waterfalls to add that soothing sound and relaxing water flow.
  • yoga space within BanyaUpstairs within the Banyä space is the yoga and meditation space. Self-paced sessions or through trainer-led classes, the space is breath-taking and designed to encourage your mindfulness and journey towards relaxation.

Weekend Yoga sessions – new this fall, 60 and 90-minute yoga classes are available to attend. Held within the new Banyä Space, certified trainers take you through various yoga styles to enhance your spa relaxation day. Very reasonably priced (60 minutes for $15 and 90 minutes for $20), the challenge will be to not overbook your day with all the thermal pools, massages and specialty options that can quickly load up your dance card.

organized wellness retreats availableHealth and Wellness Retreats – in partnership with Health and Wellness experts, Le Nordik combines wellness experts and it’s thermal water facilities to offer full day retreats in either yoga and meditation sessions or through guided talks in adopting healthy lifestyle habits and creating a positive outlook in becoming a master of your own wellness.

Add a yoga session, grab a meal … did someone mention a facial? A la carte options are available to customize your day’s time together. If you have a large group of girlfriends, there are lodges available to rent to spend the weekend!
  • Couples retreat or weekend getaway – it’s time for the two of you to have a long weekend canoodled together and re-synching your bond. Spending a day relaxing together at Le Nordik with the thermal pools, a long slow soak in the Källa pool, lunch on the patio followed by a couples massage in the woods will give a great start to a long weekend of romantic dinners and facetime. Which spa package did you have in mind?

new Exfoliation treatment within BanyaThere is just so much to love about Le Nordik Spa set in Quebec’s Gatineau Hills across the Ottawa River from Ottawa. This latest announcement of new service offerings just up’s the desire to revisit Le Nordik again and again.

In another piece of exciting Hot Off The Press news, in 2019 Le Nordik is planning to open a spa facility in Whitby, Ontario to add to it’s locations across Canada (Winnipeg, Manitoba and Quebec’s Chelsea properties). I’m curious for the design of this new property so very close to Toronto. Guess I’ll just have to wait a bit longer!
