Orlando author and girlfriend getaway expert comes to GG

Casey WohlCasey WohlCasey's always been a travel fanatic, but it wasn't until after some personal and professional challenges that she understood how important friends and travel can be in a girl's life.

She needed to get away and she needed her friends to lend a helping hand. They were happy to get away with her, but finding local information for their destinations was challenging. She searched out travel books for women, ones that featured the places she wanted to go, do the things she wanted to do.

You're going to be shocked, but she came up empty Casey WohlCasey Wohlhanded. At that point, she and her pals dug into researching which great cities offered the best girlfriend getaways.

They left no hang-out uncovered. From where to stay, where to eat, where to shop, where to get pampered, where to get cultured and where to have fun. From all that "research" Casey wrote the first in a series of city-specific guides for women - "Girls Getaway Guide Orlando - Leave Your Baggage at Home." It's a fabulous resource and deserves all the attention it's getting.

Casey's a media darling (which doesn't surprise us at all), and she's agreed to visit GG on a regular basis to share her tips for making your girlfriend getaways the best they can be.

Got a question for the Getaway Girl? Email us and she'll answer them and likely throw in a few freebie tips as well.

I am currently living in Chengdu and was here for the earthquake. Although some of the nearby cities suffered major damage, damage in Chengdu was very limited. I have heard reports of a building that collapsed and a couple buildings suffered minor structural damage but, by in large, tourist trips to the area will not be impeded at all. The day following the quake most stores in the city were closed but everything in Chengdu should return to normal by the weekend at the latest. It is a great city and I would encourage people not to change their travel plans. "
