Virgin Teams Up with LA Lakers

Get the Virgin experience with the LA Lakers

Spice One Cleared for LandingSpice One Cleared for LandingLast week Virgin spiced things up with an airline promo by the Spice Girls and that oh-so-catchy-name for the new plane - Spice One.

We couldn't agree more with our friends over at Gadling. What we really really want is an airline that keeps its promises - not one that parades calendar girls, Playboy pinups and Victoria's Secret models in an effort to get our money.

But, Virgin is all about sexing things up (service, not so much) and they're hoping the LA Lakers will fill in where the Spice Girls fall short.

If you're at a Lakers home game in 2008 and seated in Virgin America's courtside seats, you'll get the celeb treatment - gift bags and VIP service from Virgin's very special courtside "flight attendants."

What's more, there'll be lots of in-flight events and special promotions throughout the season on Virgin's new planes where you'll also find mood lighting, leather seats and a wild assortment of in-flight entertainment options.

Still can't get a warm meal though.

Wonder if there's a chance Derek Fisher will be on the plane? Heck, I might be willing to turn a blind eye to poor service for a seat beside him.

Would you?

Make sure you convert your cash at the airport so you can buy a cold beer on the bus on your way to the resort. They will take canadian money but not loonies and toonies. "
