Foiled en-route to Hannah Montana Concert
Safety First?A 16-year old boy was caught red-handed with duct tape, rope and handcuffs on Southwest Flight 284 from California to Louisiana. It looks like he was on a suicide mission - and early reports stated that he hoped to crash into a Hannah Montana concert in Lafayette, Louisiana.
You can't make this kind of stuff up.
He didn't manage to overpower the flight crew on board the plane, and may not have even had the right date for the concert he hoped to destroy.
But he did get through the security checks with handcuffs in his bag. Anyone else more than a little freaked out about that little slip up?
Luckily, it looks like when he booked the ticket on his mom's credit card, she panicked and turned him in. Good call, Mom, but this kid's problems go a little further than a stolen credit card. Initial reports are buzzing about the mock cockpit he built at home in California.
Wonder who cleans his room?
Teenagers hacking into school computers to fudge their grades is one thing, but driving a plane into the ground? If we don't take safety seriously we'll all find ourselves grounded - in more ways that one.
