Sister clubs for playful indulgence
Looking for a self-indulgent adult playzone to satisfy your sinful inner child? Book your ticket to Sin City, pack your hottest little black dress and find a hotel near TAO or LAVO. And then prepare to feast your eyes on beautiful celebs like Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Fergie, Katy Perry, Jamie Foxx, Jay-Z, Anna Kournikova - and A-listers galore who frequent these chic, trendy clubs. If you're lucky, you might even rub hips against Joaquin Phoenix (he made his rap debut at LAVO).
GoGirlfriend scoped LAVO and TAO last month - they're sister clubs with matching restaurants. TAO features Asian cuisine at the Venetian, while LAVO is an Italian restaurant at the Palazzo. Each themed nightspot exuded its own pulsing energy. And no we're not hinting at sexual energy, we're putting it out there - prepare for titillation.
TAO Nightclub, Venetian
While the 2-story Buddha in TAO is impressive, the renowned TAO Nightclub offers a religious experience of another kind. Continuing the restaurant's energy upstairs, the TAO's multi-levels feature go-go stages, an Asian bathtub (complete with bathing beauties) and a shameless abundance of nooks and secluded grotto's for private parties.
Explore the main level and you'll find two major dance rooms, many bars and loads of small group seating surround the alleys and dance floors. More than a dozen curtained, private grottos are available for advance booking and an entire level above and surrounding the main stage areas is available for the elite complete with bouncers, servers and uber-private parties. Recent attendees who have graced the nightclub include Kim Kardashian, Slash, and Carmen Electra.
The ambiance is dark, loud, pulsing, and the beautiful are everywhere. The energy exudes erotica as the DJ (or music act) pumps out addicting rhythms to encourage the intertwining (and yes, grinding) of bodies on the dance floor, on the go-go stages, or outside at the Tao Beach (above the TAO nightclub summertime). If your inner tiger blood (sorry, Charlie Sheeen, it's too good a tagline for you to have dibs on it) comes alive after midnight, don your Vegas glam, check your inhibitions in your hotel room and brave the lineups (which can be long). Prepare to experience TAO's "religious nightclub" experience.
LAVO Nightclub, Palazzo
Access to the LAVO nightclub begins with a catwalk passage overlooking the LAVO Restaurant lined with trickling Moroccan fonts building to the intimate energy of the club. Smaller, and more intimate, than her sister TAO, the tables, benches and go-go platforms surround the dance floor paying homage to the nude bathing beauty mural covering the one end wall.
Revved by the DJ's rhythm, the beat can be electric or sultry as it surges the gyrating bodies filling the room. Smaller raised ledges and platforms line the room as go-go platforms for the exhibitionistic attention-seekers. LAVO's large marble bar houses 4 bartenders to serve the crowd and party-goers are offered the rare luxury of an outside patio to continue their libations. Blend the energy of a happening club in an intimate party setting for a top-notch late-into-the-night experience.
What To Know
TAO Nightclub, Venetian - Open Thursday-Saturday, 10pm until close (which means sometime the next morning)
LAVO Nightclub, Palazzo - Open Tuesday-Sunday 11pm until close (again meaning very late)
The VIP Cover Charge gets you access into both clubs. Ladies access for $50 (with an open bar at select night hours) and $30 for their men (unfortunately no free drinks for guys). Tables and private booths are available for reservation for a completely private experience and they love hosting bachelorette parties (to sweeten that last bit of freedom, girls). Prices on the bachelorette experiences include 6 women with a complimentary bottle of champagne and about 2/3 of the cost of the party as covered alcohol for the nights partying. Yes, they encourage inhibition-shedding!

To comply with the long list of regulating bodies and in the interest of transparency, our nightclub experience was sponsored by the clubs, but the commentary and perspectives are those of GoGirlfriend.
