Las Vegas Luxury Hotel ~ Vdara

Sublime business sophistication in sin city

Vdara gets more than its fair share of media adoration, but we think it deserves another nod. And not just because the minute you step into the lobby, you'll know this hotel defines business-class luxury. Sleek, modern architecture, uber-attentive reception and top-shelf concierge services make this a professional step above the rest.

Las Vegas Luxury Hotel ~VdaraLas Vegas has transformed itself - hosting many business events and tradeshows. If you visit the city for business, as I do, the casinos can be equal parts scintillating fun, dangerous distraction and downright annoying. Normally I find a pretty perch on the strip because I like being close to restaurants and entertainment and let's face it, the hotels are spectacular. But that mandatory trip through the casino when I want to go anywhere is tiresome. The eau to cigarette kills any chance of arriving at a meeting feeling fresh.

Vdara eliminates these distractions and offers the sophistication to host business meetings without the trials of a casino culture - a non-smoking, non-gaming, all-suite retreats with business class elegance.

The best hotel in Vegas for...?

Vdara's spectacular viewsAlthough I travel to Sin City for business, there's always a day of nothing scheduled too. Always! Thankfully the Vdara gave me a reason to linger longer in bed. My deluxe suite on the 45th floor of the Vdara hotel overlooked the strip at just the right angle. Just one catch - if you're sharing this view with someone special, you might be inspired to draw the curtains and enjoy the interior ambiance ...

Speaking of drawing the curtains, I fell in love with my room. It was a safe distance from the shoppers and tourists flocking to the strip. The rooms are spacious and refreshingly free of fussiness. Imagine minimalist décor with wall to wall windows and a generous soaking tub, which is hotel-speak for sexy.

To drive home the pampered point of this room, the bed is a provocative centerpiece.

Dining at the Vdara - it's not what you're used to...

Vdara's sophisticationIf you're looking for an all-you-can-eat buffet, the Vdara isn't for you. It offers unique and smart dining propositions to business travelers. A small market café (eat in or take on the run) and a boutique grocery store serviced my dietary requirements early in the day. Instead of sugary pastry and high-fat options, a healthy selection of fresh fruit, meats and cheeses got me through my power-packed morning meetings.

Returning to the hotel après-tradeshow, a sophisticated bar served light appetizers late into the night. I highly recommend the Kiss of Persuasion (specialty cocktail) and the crème brulee - best enjoyed on the rooftop lounge.

Vdara's simple luxury of not having to trudge through a casino - priceless!
