A beach for sunsets, calm waters and dolphins
Naples Beach Florida sits on the leeward Gulf coast and is perfect for family-friendly beach time. Playing in the waves and taking leisurely walks along the shoreline are a must along this fine soft sandy stretch of beach. The waters are generally calm and at dusk you can often see dolphins in their pods swimming the coast. The most popular section of Naples Beach is near the pier off Naples downtown on 12th street, if you’re looking for a little quieter space head for a beach access farther north and south from that central point.
Naples Beach area activities
Embrace the beach vibe of the leeward Gulf shores and the protection it offers and the post-beach shopping opportunities in this wealthy upscale community.

Naples Beach area nightlife
I’m going to say hands down, the sunsets at the Naples pier are the premier thing to do as the nightlife comes alive around Naples Beach, but also:
Consider a stroll and dinner along the historic 5th Ave S district or highly recommended Tommy Bahamas Restaurant, Sea Salt, Campiello’s, or if you prefer beachside, the Sunset Beach Bar at the Naples Beach Hotel.
- Bars, clubs and nightlife is vibrant along the historic 5th Ave S area
- Theater and culture – consider a performance of the Naples and Marco Island Shakespeare Festival, Opera Naples, professional live theater, or visit Artis Naples for live philharmonic and other performances.

Naples Beach area weather
With a position inside the Gulf of Mexico and leeward to the windy Atlantic, this allows Naples a tropical band of patterned weather with hot and wet summers, and warm and dry winters. Excitedly and enviously, Naples boasts more than 2,900 hours of sunshine a year and more than 300 sunny days a year – that’s worthy of beachy celebrations!
