Caribbean Beaches Guide – Miami (Enterprise) Beach, Barbados

Beach 411 ~ Located on Enterprise Beach Road on the South Coast of Barbados

  • Beach type: Secluded – hidden local gem
  • Beach geography: Calm, crystal clear waters can be found on the western side of the beach, whereas occasional swells and small waves can be found on the eastern side of the beach, all surrounded by soft, velvety sand. Unless there has been heavy rainfall, the beach should be mostly seaweed free.
  • Ease of access: Only a 10-minute drive from the airport. The beach is very easy to find and is wheelchair accessible.

  • Beach amenities: You’ll appreciate ample free parking, Mr. Delicious snack bar offering delicious Roti and Fishcakes, several picnic tables shaded by trees, outdoor showers and bathroom facilities, regular lifeguard duty, phone booth, vendors selling loungers, umbrellas and boogie boards.

Soak in solitude during the week and enjoy the company of locals on the weekend.

Spend your day sunbathing and stroll over to Oistins Fish Fry where your taste buds will shriek with delight as you savor fresh fish. If you’re in Barbados with relaxing your top priority, this beach is for you – sunbathe, swim, sip tasty Caribbean drinks and repeat.

Feel the need to work off some of those rum punches from Mr. Delicious? Join an early morning aerobics class organized by local trainers. Learn the art of surfing with Bodie, the most experienced instructor on the island, at Bodie’s School of Surf, or play a round of golf at Barbados Golf Course.

If you’re looking for nocturnal fun, hop in a taxi and head to St. Lawrence Gap, referred to more simply as “The Gap”, and immerse yourself in Barbados’ liveliest nightlife. Here, in St. Lawrence Gap, rum shacks and dance halls are a must-do for visitors. For the more adventurous, enjoy some lounge-hopping at clubs like Reggae, Sugar Ultra, and Lipgloss. Head to the Old Jam Inn for “Booze, Beats, and Burgers” or enjoy cocktails at Sharkey’s Restaurant.

  • Bridgetown, Barbados: From hockey, food, wine and rum festivals, swimming championships, to rugby, tennis, cricket and dominos tournaments, Bridgetown of Barbados is where all of the islands major annual events take place.
