Two new Aveda signature treatments you'll love

What makes one spa better than another? It can be service - that attentiveness maternity ward nurses perfect. It can be luxurious treatments that uncoil our tangled muscles and nudge our inner perfection closer to the surface. But sometimes it can be as simple as a reminder that we're more than merely inhabitants of the planet - we're part of it - and we have a responsibility to live up to our potential.

Green Science SpaGreen Science SpaSte. Anne's is one of those spas for me. From their full-immersion mud-baths to their hydrotherapy treatments, each visit is a reminder of my connection to this wonderful and glorious earth. I usually arrive stressed and full of my own busyness, but I always leave a kinder, gentler version of myself.

"The first mud bath I had made me realize I was part of the planet as opposed to someone just standing on top of it," says Jim Corcoran, owner and general manager. "I realized when I was enveloped in the mud that I was being hugged by the planet, absorbed into it."

I have a not-so-secret addiction to beauty treatments, but connecting with others, myself and the planet it real reason I visit the spa. To reconnect, to heal, to find new energy to be the me I want to be. Ste. Anne's is adding two new treatments this month that I can't wait to take for a test drive.

The Green Science Customized Facial repairs and regenerates mature skin with a medicinal plant from Thailand. From their press release, "Just one facial treatment leaves the skin noticeably smoother and plumper, improving tone clarity. Like all Aveda treatments, this one features high touch skin therapy."

The Chakra Balancing Massage, combines massage with a guided inner journey to lead you back to your true self. "It's about zoning in rather than zoning out," explains Ste. Anne's Spa Manager Natalie Kellar.

Do you really need another excuse to visit Ste. Anne's? I sure don't.

Ste. Anne's is an Aveda destination spa and offers a wide range of day spa and overnight experience. It's 75 minutes east of Toronto, near Grafton, Ontario. To stressed to consider the drive? Take advantage of Ste. Anne's partnership with VIA Rail and let the "Stress Express" get you there.
