Spring Equinox - A great reason to celebrate love

9-5 got you down? Take the first day of a spring as a sign to get outta town. Contrary to popular belief, the weekend getaway doesn't have to involve an overly precious B&B or fussy French food - though it can. All you really need is your partner, you and a little bit of spring fever.

First Day of SpringFirst Day of SpringBreak away from tradition and wake up your love life with a little "couple time" at your favorite hideaway. Have a look at our favorites and let us know if you agree.

Honor Mansion, Healdsburg, CA: This Victorian inn offers guests a dreamy respite from their hectic lives. One guest wrote that a stay here is a cross between a holiday at the Ritz and a visit to a dear friend's home. We think the place is a little like waking up in the middle of a fairy tale.

Château Frontenac, Quebec, QB: For more than a century, this railroad hotel has served as the focal point of Quebec City. From dining at the oldest house in Quebec (1674) to a horse and carriage ride through cobble stone laneways, Quebec City is as charming as it is warm and welcoming.

Amelia Island Plantation, Amelia Island, FL: Perched on the northernmost point of Amelia Island, the Amelia Island Plantation overlooks the rippling blue waves of the Atlantic on one side and mossy green marshlands on the other. Minutes from the shore, but miles from stress is the mantra here.

El Monte Sagrado Resort and Spa, Taos, NM: Near the historic Taos Plaza, this eco-resort is flanked by breathtaking panoramic vistas - honestly. Just about everything onsite is handcrafted - linens, furniture, hand painted murals and antique artifacts. And a visit here is as good for the earth as it is for your relationship - they aim to be the first American spa to recycle 100 percent of its water.

Where will you and your partner celebrate the first day of spring?
