Good food shouldn't be rushed. It's as simple as that at French Laundry, voted "Best Restaurant in the World" by Restaurant Magazine.
French Laundry in Sonoma, is one of 3 restaurants in the trendy, but upscale chain (the 
French Laundryothers are in New York and Vegas). It opened in 1998 and offers authentic French bistro fare - if you're willing to wait at least 2 months for a reservation.
It's worth the wait though. The service is formal and seamless, the pace unhurried and languid and Chef Keller a master of his trade. Expect to spend at least 3 hours as course after course parades across your plate.
The décor is just as beautiful as the food with a French zinc bar, a mosaic floor, antique light fixtures and an expansive hand-painted mural by French artist, Paulin 
French LaundryParis. During the summer, take a seat on the flower-filled patio, the perfect complement to Keller's cuisine.
It's enough to make even the most seasoned foodie, well, drool.
