Flu Shots at Airports

Who needs a doctor when you can get healthy on the fly?

You can pre-order nutritious in-flight meals, relax with a layover massage and now get that flu shot you've been putting off.

In a dozen airports across North America, you'll beAfraid of needles?Afraid of needles? able to beat influenza while you wait to board your flight this fall.

If you're like me and put a flu shot on your must-do list, but never find time to actually call the doctor, book the appointment and then get there, you'll like appreciate the uber-convenience of fly-by immunization.

Not a flu shot kinda gal?

Go ahead and take your chances: wash your hands, get your zzz's and down a fortune in vitamins. But burn the midnight oil a few nights or skimp on the veggies, and that's the week you'll get sneezed on while waiting in line for your latte.

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)[www.cdc.gov] reports more than 36,000 deaths each year from the flu and more than 200,000 hospitalizations - those figures don't include all the people who sniffle and cough their way through flu season - contaminating grocery carts, doorknobs and ATM's.

Unlike previous years, there's no shortage of flu shots and most airports are offering them for $15 to $35 - less than the average airport meal.

Can you hear that sound? It's your excuses running out of steam.
