Southern part of Canaveral National Seashore, near Titusville Florida

Move over wooden bangles and dangly earrings, we're shedding it all when we visit Playalinda Beach, a barrier island on Canaveral National Seashore. Yes, we understand nudism is illegal in Florida, but this is one beach you can shed your clothes and no one will notice - or care.

The most northern parking area of the beach is so secluded that nudism laws aren't enforced. You'll find a wide variety of visitors here from heterosexual couples to gay men to true naturists. If this describes you, Playalinda BeachPlayalinda BeachPlayalinda Beach should be on your (nude) vacation radar. If you're not into public displays of your body, Playalinda has a more conservative section along the parking lots leading up to spot 13.

Accommodations: Very few camping areas are offered on Canaveral National Seashore. You'll find hotels and motels in nearby Titusville, New Smyrna Beach, Orlando and Daytona. If you're looking for nudist resorts, Daytona offers a few nudist accommodations.

Playalinda Beach Local Activities: Playalinda is renowned for the best surfing spots in Florida. Year-round guided tours are held by Canaveral National Seashore, teaching important lessons about the fragile eco-system and wildlife.

Playalinda Beach Area Attractions: Bring your camera and get some great pictures of the Space Shuttle launch pads located across the beach. Take a journey to Mosquito Lagoon and watch for dolphins, manatee and shore birds. A day trip to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is great for eco-tourists. More than 140,000 acres of estuaries, marshes, coastal dunes and palm and oak hammocks await you.

Playalinda Beach Area Events:

  • Manatee Arts Festival (May): A two day event full of arts and crafts
  • Taste of Titusville (August): Held in Titusville, sample food and treats from local restaurants at this food extravaganza.

Playalinda Beach Nightlife: New Smyrna Beach offers up some unique pubs, clubs and live concerts.

Playalinda Beach Weather: Summer brings temperatures between 81F - 91F, while winter temperatures drop between 61F - 75F.

Playalinda Beach Facilities: Parking areas have restrooms and trash cans. There is a visitor's center and lifeguards are on duty between 10am - 5pm, Memorial Day through Labor Day. There are no showers, running water, concessions or payphones.

Beach Fees: There is a $3 fee per person to enter the park; children under 16 years old are free. An annual park pass can be purchased for $35.

Great article recommending

Great article recommending nude beaches for vacations. Nude beaches are illegal in most parts of the US. Why risk going to Playalinda beach when you have the best and only legal nude beach in Florida down in Miami Beach called Haulover Beach. Also why risk going to an illegal nude beach when you have the best nudist resort in Florida called Cypress Cove just minutes outside of Orlando. Finally, everyone knows that Florida averages more rain than any other state in the US in the summer time. Why risk having your vaction rained out when you can go to one of the top 10 best clothing optional resorts in the world according to Trip Advisor called Terra Cotta Inn located in sunny Palm Springs, CA. For more information about nudist resorts and nude beaches located all ove rthe US and Canada go to http://aanr.com

I live in Titusville, 10

I live in Titusville, 10 miles from Playalinda..and you're taking a big chance going to Playalinda. Been here since '74, and Sheriff's patrol does issue citations randomly. You just never know when. As for Cypress Cove...my wife & I visited for the 1st and last time 5 years ago. It's just a place for men to hit on your wife or girlfriend, and this loser Hadley (who runs the place) supports this type of behavior. Cypress cove sucks!!

Imagine, after an exhausting

Imagine, after an exhausting week of the daily facade everyone puts on every morning before we step out our doors, the ability to go to a place where none of that defines the person you are. Where you are not judged by the car you drive, the type of job that you have, or the clothes on your back. Imagine a place where everyone's the same, and you'll imagine what it's like to visit there. Imagine all of this peace and beauty in a naturist surrounding, free of one of the strongest reminders of the world we so dearly need to retreat from: our clothes. Imagine a place like naturistmingle.com where no one is judged by appearance but is accepted only as God himself created him. Imagine an environment where even children can play in complete safety and peace.
