Nestled just west of Pensacola Beach, this 19th century historic location saw action dating back to the civil war. If you like thrills, visit the fort at sundown, where it's said that Geronimo's ghost still wanders.

- Polar Bear Dip: Wish yourself good luck, and jump into the annual splash held every New Year's Day. Afterward, feast on traditional black eyed peas, where it's said the person who finds a dime in their peas will have good virtue all year.

Gulf Islands National Sea Shore Night Life: Home to more than a few trendy bars and clubs, the Gulf Islands night life will keep your nightlife gooving. Head out to a pub and rock out to local headliners.
Gulf Islands National Seashore Weather: Make sure you pack sunscreen. Average highs reach up to 77F, while average lows are only 60F. And don't forget to pack your umbrellas - afternoon showers are common but once the clouds disappear it's back to sunny skies.
Beach Fees: Beach fees include: (1-7 days) $3.00/person. Family rate is $8.00/vehicle. An annual pass will cost you $25.00. A Night Owl Pass (after hour's access) is $30.00. Visit National Park Service online for more pricing information.
