Celebrity Solstice Embraces its Feminine Side
This ain't your mother's cruise ship
Solstice SkyViewFive women, dubbed, "Celebrity's Leading Ladies," walked away from their everyday lives for 4 months and immersed themselves in studying how women cruise. Their mission? Bring Celebrity up to speed with a brand spanking new ship geared to what women really want.
In 2008, the Celebrity Solstice, the product of all their hard work, will sail her maiden voyage.
"Their [women's] standards are high," says 
Solstice CrushCelebrity's senior VP of marketing. "Celebrity is committed to exceeding them, while also creating a great experience for the spouse, family or friends with whom they may be traveling."
If you're cruising with the Solstice in 2008, you'll find these changes:

Roomier bathrooms with better mirrors and lights.

Individual reading lights by the bed.

Expanded storage for luggage and other personal items.
A new class of staterooms

AquaClass: Large staterooms (192 sq ft) for serious spa-goers with premium access to the AquaSpa relaxation room, Persian Garden and Blu (restaurant).

Family Veranda stateroom: A roomy 753 sq ft that easily sleeps 6 people.
Our friends at Cruise Critic did a good job of nailing down what you won't find:
- Family staterooms: They still don't have bathtubs (or even half baths) which makes it tricky for little ones who hate showering.
- Stateroom size: At 170 sq ft, they're not as big as we expected for a ship this size.
- Cruising itineraries: Not much new here with the first cruises out the gate being 7-nighters with one stopping at St. Kitts, St. Maarten and San Juan and the other at San Juan, St. Maarten, Tortola and Labadee, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity's private beach in Haiti.
