Inspiring adventures for all women

Dez Bartelt is who I want to be when I grow up. She's full of energy and creativity and has an amazing zest for life. Her mantra - "Explore, study and preserve" - defines why I love to travel.

She's climbed avidly for 20 years, conquering some of Dez BarteltDez Barteltthe toughest cliffs and likely has more mountains under her belt than most of us have shoes. But she's equally devoted to white-water rafting, sea kayaking, ice climbing, and skiing, as well as teaching wilderness survival techniques.

Her Adventure Company, Best of Both Adventures for Women takes women to amazing places and encourages them to stretch their limits, to explore their potential amid the safety and comfort of other women doing exactly the same thing.

What I love about her adventures is that it doesn't really matter what your fitness level is. If you want to get out and try something new, she has a journey for you.

Choose from three destinations: Patagonia, Panama and Puerto Rico, and then start customizing:

  • Yoga, spa treatments and fabulous food nurture your body between adventures
  • Hiking
  • Bird watching
  • Mountain biking
  • Rafting ( float and white water)
  • Glacier trekking
  • Horseback riding
  • Sea kayaking
  • Scuba diving
  • Snorkeling
  • Aerial canopy
  • Surfing
  • Dez is off adventuring for the next few months, but she's going to be checking back weekly, sharing her adventures with us.

Got a question for Dez? Post it here and I'll make sure she gets it.
