GG isn't a paying publication, but we can promise you superstar status (well, close). Does your tip/article/story idea fit into one of these categories?

  • You did it. You liked it (or hated it).
  • You bought it. You liked it (or hated it).
  • You remembered that we're not a site for millionaires - keep it real, girlfriend.
  • It's non-fiction. We don't publish fiction or poetry - not even haiku. Ever. Seriously.

In a nutshell, we serve up tidbits of information and insight in easy-to-digest bites. Think chatting with a girlfriend over a latte - hip, relaxed and yet filled with an honesty you can't get just anywhere. All tips/articles/stories should be:

  • Fun: Each post has a sharp wit in a clear, concise writing style.
  • Open minded: We aren't interested in the predictable or conventional.
  • Focused: Posts are about one topic and include information relevant to that slant.
  • Short: Generally no more than 300 words, but usually 150-200 words.

GG Submission Tips

  • First and foremost, ensure your article is accurate. Fact-check all content, from the correct name of the spa/restaurant/hotel and its signature menu items to hours, prices, phone number and website.
  • Then, step back and think about whether your piece adds up to something you'd like to read. We want our readers to experience the flavor of the destination so they can make informed travel decisions.
  • Treat your article as an exploration.
    • Be critical where it's called for. Our strength is that we tell it like it is and don't promote the tourism bureau's line.
    • Use clear, concise descriptions. Listings should focus on what travelers can see, do, taste and experience.
    • Keep in mind that travel is an adventure into the unknown. It's our responsibility to alert travelers to potential hazards without being alarmist about it.

The Fine Print

  • We consider all articles/stories/tips on spec.
  • We reserve the right to edit submitted content for grammar, spelling, length, etc. If we make substantial changes to a piece, we'll contact you prior to publication.
  • We reserve the right to remove reviews/articles from our site at any time for any reason.
  • We ask for one-time rights and the right to archive each submission. You retain ownership and are free to submit your work elsewhere after 90 days.
  • By submitting to us, you acknowledge ownership of your work - we will not be held responsible for copyright infringement.

Bio: Please enclose a brief (2-3 sentences) bio so we have it on hand if we print your article. Submissions without bio, name, or address will not be considered.

Photos: We publish photos with every tip/article/story. You can submit images via email. Photos should be high resolution, .jpeg and 600x400 pixels.

Send your pitches to the editor pasted in the body of your email or as an attachment in an MS Word doc.

We respond to all emails, but please be patient. If you haven't heard from us within 2 weeks, feel free to follow up with an email.
