Rachel Ray in Paris
Rachel shares the hottest places to eat in the "City of Lights"
City of LightsWhether you love her or love to hate her, Rachel Ray is living my dream. She's in Paris with her husband, eating her way through a 5-day vacation.
The pair eased up on their gift giving this year and instead treated themselves to some time together the "City of Lights." Sounds like the perfect way to welcome yourself to 2008.
Wanna know where she loves to hangout, eat and have fun?
- Chez Paul: It's at the busy end of rue de Lappe and known for authentic French food - without the attitude. Fun, lively and "extremely laid back" wrote Ray in her blog. It's also incredibly busy, so either book ahead and prepare to linger at the bar or arrive before they open to get in line.
- Shakespeare & Company: Nestled in the heart of Paris on the Left Bank (opposite Notre-Dame) Shakespeare & Company is more of a religion than a bookstore. And its disciples happily lose themselves within its walls for hours at time. Sign me up!
- Latin Quarter: The best neighborhood in Paris for quaint cafes, sandwich shops and bakeries that feature a multitude of ethnicities: Greek, Middle Eastern and Western African. Ray loves to stop into a boulangeries and load up on fresh bread, croissants, brioche and baguette sandwiches.
- Lenotre: When it Paris, leave the scale at home and visit Lenotre for dessert. According to Ray, they make the most beautiful, decadent desserts that dare you to deny yourself. "Now how could you feel guilty about that?"
There's something about traveling with a chef that makes complete sense to me. Now, if I could only find one to travel with, I'd be set.
Have you ever visited Paris? Where do you love to eat?
