Commune with nature on the peak and strip with attitude

Winter NaturismWinter NaturismSkinny dipping is a guilty pleasure of mine - there's something sacred about communing with nature in the all together. Being naked on Everest probably holds the same appeal for offbeat hikers  - fresh air and a quick strip-down - how can you do *that* and not feel alive?

Last year a Nepali hiker climbed to the peak, unzipped and celebrated with his very own naked dance. Government officials weren't amused. They are, in fact, shocked and dismayed and want stricter regulations. "I would assume that concern for one's own Johnson in negative ten degree temperatures would be discouragement in itself, but apparently it isn't," says Ang Tshering, president of Nepal's Mountaineering Association.

Naked climbing isn't new though. According to Hank Wangford, journalist for The Guardian, famous British Winter NaturismWinter Naturismmountaineer George Mallory went cheeks up when he climbed in the 1920s. And there are entire societies dedicated to friction-free mountain climbing - who knew?

Considering some high-altitude streaking? You might frighten other hikers away, but think of the privacy. Or audience depending on the shape you're in...

What's next? Having sex at the peak? Probably been done already...

Where's the best place you've ever streaked?

The reason officials were so

The reason officials were so upset was that the mountains are sacred. What seems like a funny stunt to some is actually very disrespectful. People should be aware of the culture where they go.

You go girl!! Lots of snow

You go girl!! Lots of snow and really cold here, but not sure I'd do THAT!! Too much. Summer dippin, sure, but winter, no way!! I'll wait til it's warmer. The outside freedom here on the hills is pure exhiliration ... I'm with you!!

Hot Damn!! Looks like fun.

I had just purchased it on board the ship the day prior. But nothing can compare to the loss of a family member. The Captain had everyones attention for the announcement. Captain Draper done a great job informing the passengers of the accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Rumphrey family."

My heart was so heavy over the thought of his dear parents losing their son on what was to be a very happy time. My heart is with his family and I will pray for them."

  • On Tour Bus Crash in Tortola – Caribbean Princess Passenger Dies, Julia Rosien said "Thanks for posting your comment. I was very impressed with the way Captain Draper handled the situation and I told him so. He made it a priority to inform all passengers and eliminated rumor and speculation. It's nice to know the other passengers involved felt the driver saved their lives. The roads in Tortola are terrible and I'm sure much skill is involvd navigating them safely. I hope you enjoyed your cruise, despite this tragedy. Julia"
