Bible belt tourism heads to Tampa - just in time for spring break

Horizontal MamboHorizontal MamboFlorida has a lot going for it in terms of tourism (Universal Studios, Disney, more hotel rooms than any other US city). If you're married and looking for a new church, it has a little bit more this morning.

Pastor Paul Wirth believes he has the cure for rising divorce rates - more hanky panky. And he's issued a challenge for his followers this morning to prove his theory. To the unmarried followers, he challenged them to abstain from sex for 30 days, and to his married followers, he challenged them to do it every day for the same time period.

Obviously the married council members hit pay dirt.

His all male committee voted unanimously in favor of the experiment, believing that a sexually satisfied husband is a more attentive husband and a better Christian.

I'm thinking they all sat around drinking to come up with this kind of plan. And then they held a press conference and put up a website to make it look intelligent.

"Everybody expects the church to say God hates sex," said the pastor. "That's just not true. I believe God wants us to have great sex."

So, if you're considering a spring break trip to Tampa, you might want to pre-register for this sex challenge, which looks like a lot more adult fun than Disney ever delivered on.

Only if you're married though...

Actually, where I sit currently (on a barrier island) has been under water many times. Staying on an island is scary. We leave if it is over a CAT 1. The most important thing for us is to fill our gas tanks at the first inkling that there may be a storm. Water, medicines, non perishable food, they're all really important. Honestly, if it is a big storm, alcohol later serves as pay for work. We stock up on EVERYTHING. We start eating out of the freezer days before (like we did tonight, getting ready for Earl). You don't want much to go bad. Then we tie up all the trash cans, secure grills, and hold on for dear life :)"

The buses in Mexico are very comfortable like flying in a plane they often have movies and it is safer.Plan your trip and don't travel alone especially if you are female.Women traveling alone are a target Good luck and stay alert."
