So many trips, so little time!

Vacation PlanningVacation PlanningIsn't it about time you gave yourself permission to have the kind of vacation you really want?

Let's face it, if you're looking for a same sex partner, a Disney cruise jammed with kids isn't going to impress. And if you're a spa-worshiping gay man, one that caters to husband-hunting debutantes is going to miss the mark.

At GoGirlfriend, we're eager to share travel companies who get it. If you're looking for gay and/or lesbian adventure travel - with a partner or solo - have a look at some of the companies we've found:

  • Olivia: The energy behind Olivia's pink-powered freedom is simple - joyful freedom to travel openly with your same sex partner. Melissa Etheridge, the Indigo Girls and Whoopi Goldberg have all traveled with Olivia.
  • Pied Piper Travel: A gay group tour operator, Pied Piper Travel specializes in organizing wholly gay cruises and gay groups on gay-friendly cruise ships.
  • "R" Family Vacations: "R" Family (owned by Rosie O'Donnell) caters to both the gay and lesbian community and abides by the philosophy that everyone is welcome.
  • Alyson Adventures: Alyson Adventures specializes in active, robust vacations that can be easily customized. Stay with the group and make new friends or venture off for solitary exploring.

Know an adventure company that specializes in gay and lesbian travel? Share it with us.

Hi, I found your website

Hi, I found your website via a google search for Lesbian Travelers. Since you play a vital role in our community, I just wanted to swing by to let you know about my new travel book for women, Simple Rules for...The Road Warrior Princess. Happy Travels! Best regards, Debbie A

Adventure? These look

Adventure? These look pretty tame to me: Rosie's adventure cruise is of New England and Canada...come on people, lets be a little more H-Core before calling it adventure. If they do offer real adventure travel, then tell us about it!!!

Check out Adventures in Good

Check out Adventures in Good Company, which offers REAL adventure travel for women of all ages (e.g. trekking in Bhutan, climbing Kilimanjaro). While not specifically for lesbians, it is a lesbian friendly company where everyone can be free to be who they are. It is probably not the best place to find a partner, but it is a place where you can bring your partner and be comfortable.

And yes, we adore the Bay of Fundy :-) While I'll agree it's no longer parka weather in your neck of the woods, it's not quite string bikini weather either. Shall we toast to it and let the beer warm us up? Happy St Paddy's Day! Julia"

  • On Canada Goes Green for St. Patrick's Day, Terri said "hey Travel girls, great to hear that you love our Bay of Fundy here on the east coast of Canada as much as you love Tim Horton's ...and, as a Bay of Fundy chick, I love the green tide analogy. For sure, there will be lots of fun times down here around St Paddy's day but I just want to send you a correction to say you certainly won't be needing a parka? to visit at this time of year. It's +8 to +10 degress Celius (that's in the 50s F for our American friends) - definitely well above parka weather. haha So nice that the birds are chirping and the maple sap is flying out of the trees and, ultimately, on to our pancakes. • On Tour Bus Crash in Tortola – Caribbean Princess Passenger Dies, Sad and heavy heart said "On a note about the roads of Totrola which are steep, and windy and narrow, all the more reason that tour vehicles should have regular safety checks, SEATBELTS (which dirvers should mandate use or not allow passengers to continue with the tour, driver's should go slow, and Princess Cruise Lines should do extensive background checks, and not hire people with the nick-name of Crash-Dummy."

  • On Tour Bus Crash in Tortola – Caribbean Princess Passenger Dies, Jan said "We were also on the ship with our friends, had spent the day at the beach in Tortola where the slider on my Omega came off, "broke" and lost. I had just purchased it on board the ship the day prior. But nothing can compare to the loss of a family member. The Captain had everyones attention for the announcement. Captain Draper done a great job informing the passengers of the accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Rumphrey family."
