Spa treatment in China pushes the ewwww! limit

If you're partner leaves for work before you've had your first coffee, kiss your chance for a quickie body scrub goodbye - and put up with scaly elbows for the day. Until now.

The Fish Spa in Huizhou, south China's Guangdong Province is marketing itself as the hippest way to shed your snakeskin ways.

The Garra Rufa, a small tropical fish found in the Fishy Spa TreatmentsFishy Spa TreatmentsMiddle East, eats dead skin from trend-setting spa goers. All you have to do is climb in the tub with them. The little critters thrive in hot water - at least 109F (43C) - and feed on dead and diseased flesh. They claim it doesn't hurt, and you're left with softer, smoother skin in under an hour.

Personally, the idea creeps me out. There's no way I want to re-enter the food chain as fish food. But my curiosity is peaked.

Wonder if a snug fitting rubber suit keeps them from camping out you know where???

And yes, we adore the Bay of Fundy :-) While I'll agree it's no longer parka weather in your neck of the woods, it's not quite string bikini weather either. Shall we toast to it and let the beer warm us up? Happy St Paddy's Day! Julia"

For sure, there will be lots of fun times down here around St Paddy's day but I just want to send you a correction to say you certainly won't be needing a parka? to visit at this time of year. It's +8 to +10 degress Celius (that's in the 50s F for our American friends) - definitely well above parka weather. haha So nice that the birds are chirping and the maple sap is flying out of the trees and, ultimately, on to our pancakes. Happy spring! Terri the Bay of Fundy blogger bayoffundy.blogspot.com "

I had just purchased it on board the ship the day prior. But nothing can compare to the loss of a family member. The Captain had everyones attention for the announcement. Captain Draper done a great job informing the passengers of the accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Rumphrey family."
