Ashiatsu Massage at Grand Hotel Marriott Resort

Ashiatsu MassageAshiatsu MassageIt's one of the most popular massages at Spa at the Grand - and one of the most expensive - but worth it. Buddist monks perfected Ashiatsu Massage or Oriental Bar Therapy hundreds of years ago. The  technique is simple - a therapist suspends himself above your body and uses bare feet to...

Barbados Vacation Basics

St. Lawrence GapSt. Lawrence GapEver wonder where Zeus hung out when he tired of Greek goddesses? We're pretty sure he headed west to the vibrant island of Barbados. From Bajan festivals to local rum bars paired with an embarrassing richness of sand, sun and natural wilderness this island is anything but drab.

St. Anne’s Haldimand Hills Spa

St. Anne's Haldimand HillsSt. Anne's Haldimand HillsIf well-being were a religion, Ste. Anne's in Haldimand Hills is my church of choice. My partner and I shed our clothes within minutes of arrival and donned those over-sized robes for a weekend of soaking in the hot tub, multiple spa appointments and highly encouraged canoodling by the fireplace. We even took...

  • On 5 Nudist Resorts that Will Blow Your Mind, John Ruze said "Hi Julia, There is a brand new, very popular nudist resort you should think about reporting on in your next article about naturism. It is the New Terra Cotta Clothing Optional Resort and Spa in sunny Palm Springs, California.. The original Terra Cotta Inn was a fantastic nude resort. Repeat guests from around the world stayed there. TCI was sold in Nov 2015 and greatly missed. Well, this July 2017, it was revived at a new location in Palm Springs. The site is HotelTerraCotta.com. Guests are super happy. It's perfect for couples and girlfriend getaways. And Tom and Mary Clare from the original Terra Cotta Inn work with us, so it has the same relaxing, fun feel. "

I understand in the litigious US of A, hotels need to prevent folks from throwing themselves out the windows (or else the hotel could be sued?!!). Ok, fine. But for those of us who dislike A/C and only use it when absolutely necessary, can't we still have the option for some FRESH AIR? There ARE ways to allow windows to open up only so much, while at the same time preventing an entire body from throwing itself out the window. Bedskirts. Am I the only one who gets the skeevies when I see hotel beds with bedskirts that hit the floor? I always had images of food crumbs, bugs, and god only knows what...as being hidden behind that bedskirt. I'd much rather a bedskirt that's at least 2" above the (usually carpetted) floor. Towels. Can't we get nicer towels that don't feel like cardboard? Carpetting. Am I the only one who never walks barefoot in a hotel room ...esp when there's carpet? Blech. I'm sure those things are very rarely cleaned. "

  • On Travel Advice for Visiting a New Country, NJB said "Hi Stacy, great article! Just wanted to say, you can get an international SIM card that works in multiple countries and on cruise ships. They're not quite as cheap as a SIM card from the country you're visiting, but they're cheaper than a roaming plan on your domestic SIM and will save you a lot of time if you're visiting several countries. I got mine from Telestial, which also offers a range of cheap travel phones and other useful products (adapters, etc)."
