A girlfriend getaway is the perfect time to practice the lost art of flirting

Sure you're heading out of town with your gal pals, but that doesn't mean guys are off limits. If you're newly single and trying to find your groove again, who better Flirting 101Flirting 101to give advice than the girls who know you better than anyone else?

Let's hear it for the girls!

  • Be cool, but not too cool. More than any other trait, guys love a girl who smiles. Angelina's pout may be sexy, but he's nervous about approaching you and thinks you're giving him the "Ice Princess" stare.
  • Speak softly. Save the belly laughs (at least for now) for your girlfriends. For some reason guys associate loudness with trying too hard. Dial it down a notch and make him lean into hear what you have to say.
  • Tone down your scent. A guy wants to be surprised by your perfume when he leans into you, not overwhelmed by it from 10 ft away.
  • Use your hands. Let your hands do the talking for you. Run your fingers through your hair, gesture, touch your lips. It's the universal language of love.

If the flirting falls flat, consider taking your next girlfriend getaway in Chicago where you can learn to pole dance. That skill has to come in handy somewhere...

I set up Hands Up Holidays with the passion to create amazing vacations where people got to learn about other cultures, explore a destination, and interact meaningfully with the locals, through the medium of carefully consulted volunteer projects. Families do indeed get a lot out of our trips, as do couples, single travellers, and seniors. Yours in Adventures That Count Chris "

Right now the agencies are still dealing with a lot of paperwork to get into Myanmar. However, once they are in, they need names and applications on file so they can call on you when they are ready to go. If your vacation dates are more structured, why don't you contact an agency which runs volunteer programs all the time, you'll be able to make a difference somewhere without driving your boss nuts waiting to find out when you're going. Good luck!"
